What does it take to create an educational environment where everyone knows they matter? Where knowing you matter is reflected in the lived experiences of students, faculty, and staff? The answer to that question is what attracted me to Brown University. I saw an opportunity to serve at an institution where commitment to diversity and inclusion is championed from the top—and where I could be a thought partner to leadership and the entire campus community in advancing diversity and inclusion. My vision is simple: to cement Brown’s place as a leader for equity, justice, and belonging in higher education. I cannot think of a better time to be at Brown. I invite our alumni and donor community to stand beside us as we move Brown toward that vision.
