BrownConnect+ Main Features

Find new opportunities to connect with and learn from your extended Brown family—in ways that are most meaningful to you.

  1. Connect with fellow alumni based on shared identities and experiences—including regional clubs, classes, affinity groups, and professional and shared interest groups. (Note: additional communities will be coming online over the coming months.)
  2. Develop expansive mentoring and professional expert networks.
  3. Form mentoring and networking relationships with Brown students, giving you a chance to both share your expertise and gain fresh perspectives.
  4. Browse both in-person and virtual events, just for Brown alumni, with the events calendar. 
  5. Search the directory for former classmates or new connections.
  6. Post internships, jobs, and experiential learning opportunities that will help students and alumni explore careers, build confidence, and develop skills.
  7. For Brown volunteers: facilitate efficient communications and event promotion and registration.

Why BrownConnect+?

Launched in September 2024, BrownConnect+ furthers the University’s commitment to transform careers exploration and foster and support a worldwide community where alumni and students are able to develop lifelong relationships and stay connected with Brown and one another. 

As a presidential priority, the new platform continues and elevates the work and mission of BrownConnect, an online tool that alumni and students have used over the last decade to build connections with each other around shared and varied professional interests. Like its predecessor, BrownConnect+ is about career exploration—but it is also about so much more. The tool provides easy ways for members to find fellow Brunonians with similar interests or identities, share their professional insights and expertise, access valuable experiential learning opportunities, and expand their professional networks.

As a collaborative venture of Brown’s Office of Alumni Relations and Center for Career and Exploration, BrownConnect+ promises to strengthen the ties that bind Brown community members—no matter where they are in their life or career.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a Brown alum, you automatically have access to BrownConnect+. Once you log in with your Brown Account, you can browse Events and Communities, search the People Directory, explore ways to become a mentor, or post job or internship opportunities for others. Students and alumni in the system will also be able to reach out and contact you, unless you opt out of this feature. (See below for instructions on opting out.)

To opt out of being contacted through BrownConnect+ by alumni or students, log into your myBrown profile and change your preferences regarding both alumni-to-alumni and student-to-alumni networking in the BrownConnect+ section. You may also make adjustments within the My Settings > Privacy section of the BrownConnect+ platform. If you have further questions about participation in the platform, please contact brownconnect+@brown.edu or submit a support request form.

When you update your myBrown profile, the information is automatically integrated into your BrownConnect+ profile. A direct link to submit changes to your profile can also be found in BrownConnect+. In addition to checking the accuracy of your contact and personal information, make sure that your job title, organization, and field are up to date in the Professional section. You also have the opportunity to add a brief work history, professional profile, and preferred networking topics. Adding more information to your profile helps you stay open to new connections and communities that are most relevant to you.

BrownConnect+ replaces BrownConnect, the online platform alumni and students have used over the last decade to build connections with each other around shared and varied professional interests. BrownConnect+ builds on this functionality with additional tools and features and a more interactive and intuitive experience, making it easier for users to connect with the Brown community. 

  • Access to BrownConnect+ is granted only to students, alumni, staff and community members who support the program. A secure password is required to access the site.
  • You can decide what is—and is not—visible in BrownConnect+ through your myBrown profile and the Privacy section of My Settings in the platform.
  • Terms of use require that information from the platform cannot be used to solicit business, nor can it be used for any political, charitable, or commercial purpose. Any such use is grounds for immediate termination of access to services.
