The Advisory Committee on University Resources Management (ACURM) is an advisory body to the president of Brown University that considers how ethical and moral standards are applied across all of Brown’s business and investment practices in a manner consistent with the University’s mission and values.

Brown’s alumni affinity groups connect alumni with one another and the University around cultural, racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, and disability identities that cut across generations, regions, and professions.

Brown Annual Fund Class Volunteers foster the unique energy of their class to encourage philanthropic support to the Brown Annual Fund in-between Reunion years.

The Brown Annual Fund Emeriti Committee (BAF-EC) seeks to increase both participation and contributions to the Brown Annual Fund from Emeriti Corporation members.

Established in 2018, the Brown Annual Fund Executive Committee serves as a critical conduit for communication and sharing of strategies around philanthropy to the University through the Brown Annual Fund.

The Reunion Gift Committee is an important group of alumni volunteers serving in various roles to encourage philanthropic participation in the Reunion Class Gift through the Brown Annual Fund, inspiring classmates to reconnect with each other and the University during the Reunion year.

The Brown Annual Fund Student Committee (BAFSC) strives to build a strong foundation of altruism for the University. Through creative engagement, events, and personal outreach, the BAFSC educates fellow undergraduate students on the importance of giving back and how alumni giving helps shape the Brown experience.

The Brown Medical Alumni Association (BMAA) serves as the central organization and primary resource for connecting medical alumni to Brown’s medical school, the University, and the extended medical community.

Brown Medical Annual Fund (BMAF) Committee members serve as high level volunteers who assist with the overall fundraising strategy for BMAF. Members serve as a resource to staff and provide useful insight for planning giving campaigns and stewardship.

The Brown University Community Council serves as a University-wide representative forum for discussion, debate, and advisory recommendations.

The Brown University Sports Foundation (BUSF) Board of Directors helps maximize philanthropic support for all varsity, club, and intramural sports as well as for athletic facilities and programs that provide for the well-being and fitness of all on the Brown campus.

Health Equity Scholars (HES) program mentors help guide and support a cohort of exceptional students as they earn their Master of Public Health degree.

Help Our Students Travel (HOSTs) volunteers provide a place for fourth-year medical students from The Warren Alpert Medical School to stay while traveling for residency interviews or month-long away rotations.

The Medical Parents Committee offers parents of Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) and medical students an opportunity to become more involved in The Warren Alpert Medical School. Medical Reunion Class Volunteers help build enthusiasm for Reunion Weekend.

Medical Student Ambassadors are a diverse, engaged, and enthusiastic group of current medical students who serve as ambassadors to alumni, parents, and friends of The Warren Alpert Medical School. Ambassadors work closely with the Office of Biomedical Advancement on a variety of activities, including fundraising, donor stewardship, and events.

The Medical Student-Alumni Mentoring Program was established to enhance and create meaningful connections between students at The Warren Alpert Medical School and its alumni.

Mentors with the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship contribute their time and expertise to help the next generation of student founders.

The Mentoring Launchpad connects volunteers with alumni-to-student mentorship opportunities that best fit their expertise, interests, and availability. 

The Parents Leadership Council, a group of approximately 50 families, seeks to inspire parents to support Brown. Members help welcome new families into the community, host and attend events, represent Brown’s strengths and priorities within their networks, and encourage philanthropic support from their peers through individual outreach.

The Pembroke Center Advisory Council is the governing body of the Friends of the Pembroke Center—a group of Brown University alumni, parents, and friends who support the Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women and its scholars.

The President's Leadership Council is a distinguished body of select alumni, parents, and friends of the University who have the opportunity to discuss with the President and senior administrators the future direction and activities of the University.

The University supports a number of groups comprising engaged alumni, parents, and friends who are focused on various aspects of academics and operations. These groups are advisory to the president and are staffed by senior members of the administration. Members are selected for their valued expertise in the area of interest.
