The success of The Warren Alpert Medical School is driven in part by the generosity of our dedicated donors. Their support of the Brown Medical Annual Fund advances the Medical School’s highest priorities, including scholarship support, student research, curriculum development, and educational excellence. We are proud to recognize and thank the individuals whose philanthropy makes this work possible.
Medical Annual Fund Donor Recognition
How we recognize the loyalty and leadership of our Annual Fund supporters.
The Medical School’s Dean’s Circle
Dean’s Circle members—those who give $10,000 or more annually—are at the heart of our success. Their generosity provides the foundation for our work and accounts for nearly 60% of our annual fundraising total.
Members of The Dean’s Circle receive:
- Invitations to exclusive Dean’s Circle recognition events held throughout the year.
- Personalized access to regional, virtual, and on-campus lectures and events.
- Opportunities to connect with Brown leaders and the students who benefit from their support.
- Recognition through the Annual Fund's Carrie Tower Society.
Brown Medical Annual Fund Term Scholarship
Gifts of $25,000 per year for four or five years (or a $100,000+ commitment) establish a named Brown Medical Annual Fund Term Scholarship, providing financial aid to a medical student at The Warren Alpert Medical School.
These scholarships help ensure that talented students can pursue a Brown medical education regardless of financial circumstance.
The Tree of Hippocrates
On Brown’s campus, a special tree grows. It started as a cutting from the Tree of Hippocrates on the Greek island of Kos, where the “Father of Medicine” was born and taught his pupils. Today, that tree’s descendant flourishes on College Hill, symbolizing the roots of medical education, as well as its growth.
At The Warren Alpert Medical School, that growth is made possible in large part by our most dedicated donors. We chose the Tree of Hippocrates to represent their generosity and impact.
