Volunteer Opportunities
The Women’s Leadership Council is a presidential leadership council that works to inspire and engage the women of Brown as active participants in the life of the University.
The council achieves this by providing opportunities to connect Brown alumnae with students as mentors, role models, and advisors; organizing events, activities, and initiatives that engage Brown alumnae with one another and with the intellectual excitement of the Brown community; and demonstrating and encouraging a commitment to volunteer and philanthropic leadership at Brown.
Requirements:
- Ability to offer expertise from professional work and/or volunteer activities (in relevant areas) to aid the Council’s efforts in engaging the Brown Women’s Network
- Attendance at and/or participation in two annual meetings
- Participation in several committee and/or advisory group calls per year
- Annual philanthropic participation (at any level) encouraged/expected
Commitment:
Members serve three-year terms, beginning July 1 and ending June 30. Terms may be renewed at the discretion of the president.

Members are appointed by the University president annually. To learn more about the work of the council, contact womensnetwork@brown.edu. To learn more about the Brown Women’s Network, visit the Brown Women’s Network webpage.
