Brunonians Pay It Forward Day 2021

On May 13, the Brown community came together to support all that Brown makes possible.

For generations, Brown and its community have been making a difference in the world. Amidst this time of immense change, their promise and potential have never been greater.

This Brunonians Pay It Forward Day, more than 1,500 members of the Brown community came out in support of the students, faculty, and programs that are moving Brown forward. Together, they raised more than $1.8 million for the Brown Annual Fund.

How to Pay It Forward

As a family of funds, the Brown Annual Fund provides a variety of ways to pay it forward. From financial aid to internship opportunities, Brunonians Pay It Forward Day supporters chose how they gave back to Brown by directed their giving to the areas most meaningful to them, including:

 

The Brown Fund

Give back to Brown where it’s most needed. The Brown Fund provides the vital, unrestricted support that enables the University to nimbly respond to today’s most pressing needs and harness emerging opportunities. One of the biggest areas of need is financial aid. It not only helps bring the most talented students from every income stratum to College Hill, but also opens up the possibilities for where they’ll go after Brown.

BrownConnect Fund

Academic exploration is one of the hallmarks of a Brown education. With the BrownConnect Fund, we're ensuring that this freedom to explore extends far beyond the classroom. This fund provides undergraduates with internship and research opportunities to pursue their academic and professional goals while solving real-world problems.

IPC BAF Scholarship

The Inman Page Black Alumni Council (IPC) Brown Annual Fund (BAF) Scholarship provides financial aid with a preference for exceptional African American and Black students at Brown. Created in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Black Student Walkout of 1968, the scholarship is one of the University's newest additions to its growing efforts to cultivate a fully diverse and inclusive Brown.

Professional Schools

At our professional schools, students have the chance to deepen their knowledge in high-impact fields. Through the professional school funds, you can directly support the individual priorities of each professional school: the Brown Medical Annual Fund, the School of Public Health Annual Fund, and the School of Engineering Annual Fund.

 

What is Brunonians Pay It Forward Day?

Brunonians Pay It Forward Day is one of Brown’s biggest giving days. This 24-hour fundraising drive supports the Brown Annual Fund, which provides the University with vital funds for students and faculty, including financial aid. Gifts made on Brunonians Pay It Forward Day help nourish Brown’s commitment to making a difference in the world, allowing the next generation of Brunonians to carry on this powerful tradition.
