Affinity Group Mentoring is a year-long cohort program that invites Brown alumni to give back by establishing meaningful, long-term connections with rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

This mentoring program helps foster belonging and career readiness through both 1:1 connections and cohort-wide opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and shared learning.

Why serve as an affinity group mentor?

  • Make a Direct Impact: Help students build confidence and professional skills as they prepare for life after Brown.
  • Grow with Brown: Gain meaningful connections and experiences with the next generation of Brunonia and expand your own community capital.
  • Flexible Engagement: Support your student mentee through 1:1 check-ins while also having the option to participate in cohort-wide opportunities.

Open to all members of the Brown community, this cohort centers the experiences of students and alumni from our affinity group communities.

How to become a mentor

The Affinity Group Mentoring is one of several cohorts within the Mentoring Launchpad. Facilitated by the Center for Career Exploration and Office of Alumni Relations, the Mentoring Launchpad unifies various alumni-to-student mentoring opportunities into a single, centralized application process.

To apply, fill out the Mentoring Launchpad application on BrownConnect+. Mentors and mentees will be connected with the cohort that best aligns with their expertise, life experiences, and availability.
