On-site registration is available at an additional surcharge. Class meal tickets are limited and cannot be guaranteed. We recommend registering early as limited-capacity class events may not be available for purchase during late or on-site registration.

If you are no longer able to attend, please email Reunion Headquarters at reunions@brown.edu as soon as possible. Refund requests will be honored if received at least 10 business days prior to the event.

To ensure a safe and seamless experience for all, the University has implemented a ticketing and credential system for Commencement and Reunion Weekend. Whether you’re here for the entire weekend or just stopping by for one event, anyone planning to attend any of the weekend’s events on campus must register and carry their credentials. For alumni invited to Reunion, including those in a Reunion year and recent grads, your registration process remains the same, but your nametag is more important than ever.

Your Reunion nametag will serve as your official credentials throughout the weekend, including the Procession. All alumni invited to Reunion (classes ending in 1 and 6, as well as recent grads) will follow the same registration processes as in prior years to receive a Reunion nametag. You will pick up your nametag at the check-in tent upon arrival.

Non-Reunion alumni who wish to participate in the Procession on Sunday will have the opportunity to register in advance as well. Check back for more information.

Any guests who attend under your name will also need to register to receive credentials. Add any of your guests under your name during registration. They will receive their credentials at check-in as well.

A limited number of on-campus housing options (including dorm rooms, suites, and apartments) are available for Reunion guests.

Note: Repairs on the Washington Bridge (I-195) and subsequent new traffic patterns may affect certain travel routes. Visit the Rhode Island Department of Transportation’s page for the latest travel information regarding the closure of the Washington Bridge.

To ease your travel to Brown, the University has made additional parking spaces available on campus. You may leave your car in any of the University lots at any time from Friday at 5 p.m. through the weekend. 

The largest lot on campus is the Power Street lot (both lower and upper levels) at the corner of Power and Thayer streets. The top-level entrance is on Power Street; the bottom-level entrance is on the corner of Williams and Brook streets. 

Additional parking is available at The Wheeler School and Hope High School from Friday evening through Sunday evening.

Helpful Parking Information

• Even though hourly restrictions are waived for Reunion Weekend, do observe the city’s parking laws and emergency “No Parking” signs.
• Any cars parked in a temporary tow zone, in marked handicapped spaces without a placard, in violation of a fire hydrant, blocking driveways, or obstructing Brown police or Providence police sawhorses will be towed at the owner’s expense.
• Parking is prohibited on George Street from Prospect Street to Brown Street, on Brown Street from George Street to Charlesfield Street, and on Waterman Street from Prospect Street to Thayer Street.
• There is no parking on Providence city streets from 1 to 5 a.m.

All classes will check in under the tent on Wriston Quad, just beyond the Wayland Arch. At the check-in tent, you’ll receive your nametags and event tickets.

If you have registered for on-campus housing, you will also receive your room key and swipe card to gain access to your building. Student bellhops will be available to assist you and carry your luggage to your assigned room. 

While at check-in, don’t forget to stop by Bruno’s Reunion Shop to grab some Reunion merchandise. Browse an array of items from totes to umbrellas. (Open Friday from noon to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

While there’s no official dress code for Reunion Weekend, most attendees opt for casual or smart-casual attire. When packing, keep the following in mind:

1. New England Weather
   • Springtime in Providence is predictably unpredictable. Expect the potential for sun, humidity, and rain. Layering with light sweaters or jackets is recommended, especially for evening events when temperatures drop. Also, having a rain jacket and/or umbrella on standby is never a bad idea.
2. Event-Specific Guidance
   • Campus Dance: Come as you are for this Friday night event. You’ll see everything from tuxedos and gowns to jeans and sundresses.
   • Class Dinners: These are often the most formal part of the weekend, with attendees commonly opting for business casual or business attire.
   • General Events: Forums, block parties, and receptions are mostly casual.
3. Footwear
   • As the name implies, College Hill isn’t known for its flat terrain. Prioritize supportive walking shoes or flats when possible. Avoid heeled footwear like stilettos, as they can sink into the grass under the event tents or get caught in brick walkways.

Events take place rain or shine. Many Reunion and class events are outdoors or under tents and cannot be moved inside due to the large number of returning alumni and guests, so choose your footwear accordingly. Events will only be canceled if there is lightning or serious weather concerns.

Head back to the classroom at this year’s Commencement forums. Lead by faculty, alumni, and distinguished guests, these academic and topical colloquia are a staple of the weekend. (Check back for more information about topics, dates, and locations.)

Shuttles will be running throughout the weekend to transport guests from the Jewelry District neighborhood, southwest of Downtown Providence where 222 Richmond Garage is located, to the main campus during Reunion Weekend.

Reunion attendees who have a state-issued hang tag qualify for handicapped parking, and special arrangements can be made for drop-off service for those needing close access. Arrangements must be made prior to your on-campus arrival. Check back soon for more information.

The Brown Access Shuttle will be available during the weekend as well, providing rides on request to locations throughout campus for people with disabilities or medical conditions. From catered class events to local eateries, there are several dining choices throughout the weekend.

On-Campus Dining

Classes and other alumni groups hosting events over the weekend will have scheduled Reunion meals. (Refer to your class’s schedule or weekend events calendar.) 

Additionally, several campus markets and eateries will be open to guests.

Providence Dining

If you’re looking for a meal off-campus, Providence has plenty of options. Find a variety of local favorites and quick-service cuisine on Thayer Street or head off College Hill to explore the city’s restaurant scene.
