There’s a new way to connect with the Brown community. Launched in fall 2024, BrownConnect+ is a community-building and career exploration hub for Brown alumni, students, parents, and families.

Open to more than 100,000 Brunonians across the world, this centralized platform is bringing together generations—and with it, endless possibilities to connect with and tap into the powerful network that is the Brown community.

What can alumni expect with BrownConnect+? Take a look at some of the features of BrownConnect+ and how alumni can make the most out of this new tool.

1. Join an alumni group

The Brown experience extends far beyond campus. With BrownConnect+, you can connect with Brown alumni and friends based on your class year, geographic location, interests, identities, campus community affiliations, careers, and more in the Communities section, with more communities added over the coming months.

These social spaces provide regional Brown clubs, alumni classes, affinity groups, shared interest groups, and others a central place for connection and conversation. It’s the easiest and best way to get the latest news and information from each group. You can also browse group events in one place and check out their forums for advice, tips, and good ol’ Brunonian discussions.

2. Find events just for Brunonians

Nothing tops a Brown gathering, and we’re not just talking about Campus Dance and Reunion Weekend. There are events for Brunonians happening throughout the year and around the world.

With the events calendar on BrownConnect+, you can browse and sign up for events from informational workshops to networking sessions to happy hours. Find events near you (or virtually) that fit your interests and your schedule.

3. Connect with fellow alumni

Looking to reconnect with a former classmate or first-year roommate? Want to expand your network and meet other Brunonians from around the world? You can do all that and more with the People Directory in BrownConnect+.

If you’re looking for someone specific, you can search by a name or keyword. Or refine your search and filter results by geographic location, class year, professional organizations, and more.

4. Grow your professional network

Brown’s network of alumni and friends is unparalleled. Tapping into that network has never been easier, thanks to the tools and features that BrownConnect+ puts right at your fingertips.

There’s no “grow my network” button to click, but rather a slew of ways you can connect and engage with Brunonians through the platform, such as joining an alumni group, attending an event or workshop, or reaching out to alumni through the People Directory.

You can also engage with our professional Pathways—industry-specific communities where alumni can share ideas, connections, opportunities, and advice—from tech to arts and media.

5. Hire a Brunonian

Have an open position at your organization? Leverage the talented pool of candidates coming out of Brown by using Bruno Opportunities. Post high-quality internships, research opportunities, or employment to the Bruno Opportunities section, where students and alumni can search for and find openings or experiential learning opportunities that align with their career journey.

6. Mentor the next generation of Brown

Brunonians have a penchant for paying it forward for their Brown experience. For many, one of the most powerful forms of this has been mentoring current Brown students. It’s such an important part of our ethos that it has its own section in BrownConnect+, where alumni can learn about the different avenues to mentorship—and where students can easily find and connect with a mentor. Alumni mentors provide advice, guidance, and support to mentees, helping them grow professionally.
