Why should you pick up the phone when (401) 863-3200 shows up on your caller ID? Because that is a fellow Brunonian calling you from Brown University’s student call center.

Each year, our team of student callers talk with alumni, parents, families, and friends to discuss all things Brown. They share what’s happening on campus, answer questions, help update contact info, and facilitate gifts to the University.

Our student callers not only help maintain strong relationships across our community, but also are making a difference for Brown today by helping raise current-use funds for the University. Working on behalf of the Brown Annual Fund, these students are connecting alumni and friends with philanthropic opportunities most meaningful to them.

When do we call?

Our student call center hours are:

Monday through Thursday

4 – 9 p.m. ET

alternating Fridays and Sundays

2 – 7 p.m.

The call center only operates during the academic year and is closed for summer and winter break.

Who do we call?

Each year, we contact nearly 6,000 alumni, parents, families, and friends of Brown. We only contact individuals who have an existing affiliation with Brown, including alumni, parents of students/alumni, and other community members who have supported Brown with their giving.

The Division of Advancement strictly controls the amount and type of information shared with students. Every call shift occurs in our dedicated call center in Maddock Alumni Center and is monitored by professional staff.

Why are we calling?

Often, our callers are reaching out to ask for your support of Brown with a gift. With this outreach, our student callers are helping to raise funds for nearly every aspect of life at Brown, including financial aid, athletics, internships, faculty, campus programs, and much more. Learn more about the many ways you can give back to Brown through the Brown Annual Fund and its family of funds.

Aside from fundraising, our callers also reach out to our community to make sure their contact information is up to date as well as to thank donors for their past gifts.
