The University has made the difficult decision to suspend the Alumni Interviewing Program for the 2020-21 admission cycle. See the full announcement (PDF).

The Office of College Admission has felt the challenges that this year has presented in many different ways, but it has also allowed us to create more robust virtual opportunities to engage with prospective Brown students. We believe that providing these students with additional avenues for alumni engagement is essential, and while the Alumni Interviewing Program is suspended, we hope that alumni ambassadors will consider representing Brown in other ways.

Please complete our interest form to let us know how you would like to be involved with the Office of College Admission and which new initiatives you might be interested in this season. These initiatives include: alumni panels for prospective students, social media spotlights of alumni, newsletters, webinars with admission staff, and several events related to admitted student recruitment in the spring.

If you have questions, please contact [email protected].

No matter where you live, you can assist the University as an alumni interviewer.

Interviews may be conducted locally or across the globe. Our volunteers reach out to applicants by video chat or phone, at interviewing events or in person. All interactions are valued equally by the Admission Committee. Join our team today and have an impact on the future of Brown!

Training and Commitment

  • The program provides training via online handbooks, tutorials and interaction with experienced alumni interviewers and leaders.
  • Interviewers typically conduct 30 – 45 minute interviews in local and/or virtual settings. You can choose the number, location and method of interview that works best for you.
  • Experienced and enthusiastic interviewers often go on to become area or regional chairs who coordinate interviewing efforts for their regions.

Staying connected with fellow alumni and the next generation of Brunonians (through meeting many applicants), has allowed me to keep (my) worldview fresh.
